The Australian Centre for Geomechanics was delighted to present the First International Seminar on the Management of Rock Dumps, Stockpiles and Heap Leach Pads in Perth, Western Australia.
Although many other conferences deal with issues that relate to the management of rock dumps, stockpiles and heap leach pads, this was the first international seminar dedicated to exploring the issues specifically relevant to these facilities. Being the first seminar of its kind, the seminar was held over two days, with a total of 24 papers presented and published in these proceedings. In order to establish a high standard for possible future events, rigorous review procedures were put in place with each paper undergoing a review by two members of the technical review panel.
