Paste 2012 is the fifteenth seminar in the series and highlights the current innovative thinking in the industry. The advances in polymer technology are providing unique ways to dewater materials at discharge, and this is likely to play a major role in the future. Several papers address the issue of the slope of the beach on the deposition site. Many new case studies show that more and more practitioners are adopting or considering the placement of highly dewatered tailings, and there is a great deal of interest in the behaviour of these materials in the pump and pipeline system.
