Strategic versus Tactical 2011 features 30 papers that were presented at the Fourth International Seminar on Strategic versus Tactical Approaches in Mining held in Perth, Western Australia from the 8-10 November 2011.
This seminar addressed core issues, using case studies to unearth problems that can derail strategic plans, such as poor scheduling, unforeseen geomechanics issues, education and skill shortages, and inadequate risks and process management. All of these can have a significant impact on the profitability of many mines. This event was about trying to shift the core values of mining from short term to long term.
The hardbound, black-and-white proceedings will be of benefit and value to mining executives and analysts, financiers and bankers, OH&S personnel, mining, metallurgical and mine engineering personnel, mine planners, project leaders, consultants, contractors, researchers, suppliers and recruiters.
