Writing for an ACG event

Author Guidelines

Being an author or co-author of a paper for an ACG event gives you the opportunity to share your research, knowledge and experience with industry and to help develop best practice techniques and standards to improve safety and efficiency for all.

Style template

If you are submitting an abstract, you may do so using the ACG style template (Style template).

Permission agreement

The ACG requires that you sign a permission agreement to include your presentation in the event notes (Permission agreement).

Bio notes

Please forward your career biographical notes so we can introduce you to the attendees (Example bio notes).

Photo headshot

Please provide a portrait photo headshot that is at least a 1MB file of high quality.

Powerpoint presentation

You will be required to prepare a PPT presentation to feature at the event. You may wish to use the ACG master template. Should your presentation contain unusual software, and/or embedded animations/movies, etc., please forward your PPT to the ACG for checking at least one week prior to the event. Please include all linked media files – movies, sounds, data – as separate files. As a back-up, you may wish to bring your own laptop to use in case the ACG event laptop is unable to play your presentation properly. Please note, all PPT presentations should be in 16:9 format.

Please bring with you a copy of your final PPT presentation you are giving and any software, movie files, etc., that are required. All presentations will be copied onto the ACG event laptop prior to event commencement.

Presenter tips

Please download our presenter tips and guidelines for further information (ACG Event Presenter Tips and Guidelines).

Audiovisual

The following audiovisual equipment will be available at the event: data projector (for PPT presentation), screen, mouse, whiteboard and a lapel microphone. Please advise us if you require any other audiovisual equipment, e.g. overhead projector.

Professional development

Participation in an ACG event may contribute towards your professional development accreditation in the following ways:

  • Attending the event.
  • Presenting at the event.
  • Publishing a paper in the event proceedings.
  • Technically peer-reviewing an event paper/s.

The ACG makes no guarantee of this and recommends you contact your respective professional organisation/s. The ACG can provide a certificate of attendance at an ACG further education and training event, post-event attendance.  Please contact info-acg@uwa.edu.au for details.
